Manitoba Whitetail Deer Hunting

Archery whitetail deer hunters will hunt out of comfortable ladder and stap-on style tree stands with ladder sticks for safe and easy access. The terrain is river bottom valley cutting through rich agricultural land. Early season stand sites will be located at bottlenecks and river crossings between bedding and feeding areas. During this time bucks will be in bachelor groups in their summer patterns. This is one of the best times other than the rut, mature whitetail bucks are most vulnerable. We run 2 hunters to about 2000 acres of land per hunt, which offers low impact hunting in our areas. During this period temps can range from as low as 32F at night to about 70F during the day. This makes for comfortable whitetail deer hunting in Manitoba. The last week of our season is reserved for the serious diehard archer that can withstand temps as low as 0F at night to 32F daytime highs. At this time the first early does are coming into estrous and mature bucks are proving themselves. These hunts take place along scrape lines and near doe bedding and feeding areas. Ratteling works great at this time.

 

Our muzzle load and rifle whitetail deer hunts take place along the southern border of famous “Riding Mountain National Park”. This area is known for producing beautiful, dark chocolate, typical and non typical booners! Hunters will hunt out of ladder stands (weather permitting) or elevated huts, equipped with heaters. These sites are along scrape lines and near doe feeding and bedding areas. The terrain is mixed spruce and poplar stands with willow swamps along the agricultural fringe. Hunters are instructed to sit in their stands all day as many of our largest bucks have been taken mid day. A pack lunch will be provided and a thermous of coffee for hunters who sit all day.

Whitetail Trophy and Meat Preparation
The moment your animal is retrieved to your departure the utmost care will be taken to ensure your trophy and meat will be in the best condition possible. We use a licensed locker plant with an experienced butcher on hand. Your trophy will be properly caped and your meat professionally cut, wrapped, and frozen to your specifications. You can either take your meat home or donate it to the local food bank.

 

Conservation Snow Goose Hunting in Canada

Spring snow goose hunts in Manitoba are different than in the US. There is virtually no pressure on the birds and they get a chance to relax and focus on what they need, to fatten up for breeding. Fall Duck and Goose Hunting in Canada

Here at Michitoba Outfitting we hunt private agricultural land located in the richest waterfowl habitat in Manitoba. There are thousands of small potholes that dot the area providing the highest density of breeding ducks in all of Manitoba. The area also produces an over abundance of giant Canada geese which have become a serious nuisance to the local farmers. Along with this great habitat are numerous large bodies of water that provide important staging areas for: snows, blues, ross, lesser canada geese, and migrating ducks from the north. Michitoba has exclusive rights to over 30,000 acres of prime agricultural land, and roost water. We rotate fields and can always put you on the “X” to hunt low pressure birds! This is some of the finest duck and goose hunting in Canada!

 

Your day will begin in a scouted grain field for: snow and blue geee, ross’s geese, canada geese, mallard, pintail, wood duck, and the occasional wigeon. We will either set up with an electronic caller using snow and blue goose decoys or a mix of snow, blue, Canada, and duck decoys using conventional calls, depending on the situation. We use Final Approach layout blinds, Big Foot full body decoys, Avery GHG motion full bodies, Avery GHG motion full body mallard and pintail decoys, sillosocks, and sillosock fliers. Your morning duck or goose hunt will be fully guided, we will not drop you off at a field like most other outfitters do. Your guide will work the birds in and call the shot when they’re feet down, right in front of your face. Many mornings full limits are taken. If you do not shoot your limit of ducks or choose not to, your guide will set you up in a field or small pothole for a relaxing afternoon of duck hunting. You will hunt over a large spread of Avery GHG motion full body mallard and pintail decoys with a spinning wing decoy or two. Your 3 day hunt will include: 3 morning hunts, and 2 afternoon hunts. Our lodging facility is located right where we hunt so drive time is 30 minutes or less.

Hunting Trip in Canada - Lodging

We are located approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes west of Winnipeg airport and 1-hour north of Brandon Manitoba. Hunters can either fly to Winnipeg and rent a vehicle or drive right to our doorstep. The area we outfit is in a major staging area for snow geese, numerous sub-species of the Canada goose, and just about every kind of duck imaginable. Our area also produces high concentrations of local Giant Canada geese, and Mallards! An excellent choice for a hunting trip in Canada!

The lodging we use for our fall waterfowl and archery deer hunters is the Leisure Inn at Newdale, Manitoba. Rooms are double occupancy with double beds, cable tv, wireless Internet, private bathrooms, and laundry is available. Hunters will eat in the attached restaurant where they will enjoy a prepared meal or can order off the menu, For leisure activities you can unwind in the attached bar where you can watch TV., play pool, gamble, or enjoy your favorite drink. Lodging capacity is: four double occupancy rooms and one three bedroom suite that sleeps up to four. Lodging manager will be on site to greet and help you with any special requests.

Rifle and muzzle load hunts are lodged in Onanole, Manitoba at a three bedroom furnished condo. Hunters will eat in a restaurant 5 minutes away. There is also a bar across the street for leisure activities. Hunters who wish to upgrade will stay at a four star all season resort.
